Children younger than six are being prescribed antidepressants by GPs in England, according to new statistics. Doctors handed out 198,906 prescriptions for drugs to treat depression and anxiety to children younger than 18 between April 2015 and September 2016.

Pregnant Women Who Take Antidepressants Have 81% Higher Chance of Autistic Children

Taking antidepressants before and during pregnancy may raise the odds of autism spectrum disorder in children, a recent review showed. The study found that children born to mothers who took antidepressants during pregnancy had an 81% increased odds of developing autism.
